Baseball Recap: Coal City Takes a Loss

Coal City fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Reed-Custer on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Comets by a score of 3-1. The Coalers just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Coal City saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Lance Cuddy, who went 3-for-5 with one stolen base and one run.

Coal City's defeat dropped their record down to 16-10. As for Reed-Custer, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-10.

While Coal City had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
