Basketball Recap: Mount Abram Takes a Loss

Mount Abram lost against Dirigo back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mount Abram Roadrunners took a 33-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dirigo Cougars. The Roadrunners have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dirigo to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophia Nino-Aguirre, who posted eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals. With that strong performance, Nino-Aguirre is now averaging an impressive 2.3 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Abigail Luczynski, who put up seven points in addition to seven boards and five steals.

Mount Abram's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Dirigo, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Abram will take on St. Dominic in a holiday battle at at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Dirigo and Sacopee Valley will compete for holiday cheer at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
