Softball Recap: Marshfield Comes Up Short

If Marshfield was feeling good fresh off their 18-4 takedown of Holmen last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers fell 9-6 to the Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln Red Raiders on Tuesday. The Tigers haven't had much luck with the Red Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Madilynn Cole was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Marshfield's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, Marshfield will host Wausau West at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln, they will face off against Merrill at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Bluejays have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.13 runs per game on average), something the Red Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
