Basketball Recap: Frankton Eagles vs. Pendleton Heights Arabians
If Frankton was feeling good fresh off their 58-19 takedown of Elwood last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Frankton Eagles had to suffer through a 79-34 loss at the hands of the Pendleton Heights Arabians. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Arabians recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Emma Key was Frankton's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Ann Curtis held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. Laela Dietzer took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.
It was another big night for Kaycie Warfel, who went 13 for 19 en route to 27 points along with six boards and six steals for Pendleton Heights. Warfel's evening made it 28 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Olivia Jones was another key player, going 7 of 10 on her way to 16 points in addition to seven rebounds and six assists.
Frankton's defeat dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Pendleton Heights, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-6.
Frankton didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 49-24 win against Tipton on the 16th. Pendleton Heights has also already played their next match, a 75-38 victory against New Palestine on the 17th.
