Softball Recap: Linden-Kildare Takes a Loss

Linden-Kildare was the 10-5 winner over Maud when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Linden-Kildare Tigers fell 16-13 to the Maud Cardinals on Thursday. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Allyssa Dixon and Lynlee Lejeune did some serious damage despite the final result: Dixon scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5, while Lejeune scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-5. That's the most hits Dixon has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Oivia Stewart, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones working in the hit department: Linden-Kildare kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Linden-Kildare is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6. As for Maud, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

While Linden-Kildare had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
