Game recap: Clear Brook almost lets lead slip away against Clear Lake

Clear Brook (Friendswood, Texas) saw its 23-point lead dwindle to eight, but still managed to hang on and defeat Clear Lake (Houston, Texas) 30-22 on Saturday.

The Wolverines were up 23-7 at the half after taking the lead on a Derek Simmons touchdown run in the first quarter.

Clear Brook saw its 16-point halftime lead fall to 15 entering the fourth.

Sam Smith played well for the Falcons. The junior quarterback threw one touchdown.

CB's standout player in the win was Chase Cyprien. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns.

Last season's game between the teams resulted in a 55-30 win for the Friendswood school.



The win was a nice bounce back for the Wolverines, which lost to Clear Springs last week, 38-31.

Clear Brook (2-4) will play a 5A Region III District 24 game against Clear Falls next week, while Clear Lake (2-4) will take on Brazoswood also in a 5A Region III District 24 game.
