Baseball Recap: Connell Comes Up Short

Connell made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Royal, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Eagles fell just short of the Knights by a score of 5-3 on Tuesday. The Eagles just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Connell saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Andrew Mertens, who went 2-for-3 with one RBI.

Connell's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 5-1 and their overall record down to 11-5. As for Royal, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-5.

While Connell had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
