Basketball Recap: St. Catherine's Wins Going Away Against Homestead

The St. Catherine's Angels strolled past the Homestead Highlanders with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 69-54. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Angels.

Jayda King was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 21 points and 15 boards. What's more, she posted five assists, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Laila White was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

St. Catherine's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Homestead, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Catherine's and Martin Luther will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Angels will be up against the Spartans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 57.5 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Homestead will take on Grafton in a holiday battle at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
