Baseball Recap: Westside Rams vs. Berea Bulldogs

Westside scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They never let the Berea Bulldogs onto the board and left with a 25-0 victory. The win was familiar territory for Westside who now have five in a row.

Jacob Kirkus made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). Kirkus was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and a triple.

In other batting news, Westside got a massive performance out of Peyton Milford, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and a stolen base. Milford continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaylen Telley, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Westside's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-13. As for Berea, they are on a 12-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westside will challenge Blue Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Berea, they are on the road again on Tuesday to play Carolina Academy at 6:00 p.m. Berea is facing Carolina Academy at the right time seeing as Carolina Academy is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
