League recap: Archer wins, gets boost in standings

Archer was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from sixth to fourth in AAAAAA Region 8. The Tigers beat Shiloh 38-21 earlier in the week.

South Gwinnett extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Berkmar, 61-14. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Comets.

Central Gwinnett's Eman Westmoreland and Justin Brownlee have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Westmoreland has thrown for 1024 yards this season, while Brownlee, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 25 catches for 518 yards. Chris Carson from Parkview leads the league in rushing with 725 yards.

A big matchup in AAAAAA Region 8 this week will be when the Black Knights take on Archer. Central Gwinnett is in fifth place, while Andy Dyer's team is in fourth place.

There should be lots of points scored when the Black Knights and the Tigers face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Central Gwinnett comes in having scored 151 this season, while Archer has scored 127. The Black Knights scored 0 points last week as they lost to Grayson.

The Rams took down Central Gwinnett 52-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
