John Marshall hadn't done well against Wheeling Park recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Monarchs came out on top against the Patriots by a score of 8-3. For the Monarchs, this counts as revenge for the 5-3 victory the Patriots walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2025.

John Marshall's win bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Wheeling Park, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. John Marshall will take on Spring Valley at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Monarchs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Timberwolves have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season. As for Wheeling Park, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on East Fairmont at 5:00 p.m. on May 8.
