Baseball Game Preview: Bastrop Bears vs. Pflugerville Panthers

The Bastrop Bears will be taking part in a tournament against the Pflugerville Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Neither Bastrop nor Pflugerville posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Bastrop's tournament run continued when they took on Rudder on Friday. Bastrop fell just short of Rudder by a score of 3-2.

Bastrop saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Phillips, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Pflugerville's offense. They lost 8-0 to Lehman on Friday.

Pflugerville now has a losing record of 4-5-1. As for Bastrop, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Bastrop came out on top in a nail-biter against Pflugerville in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-3. Will Bastrop repeat their success, or does Pflugerville have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
