Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Minico

Minico had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-1 victory over the Wood River Wolverines. That's more bragging rights for the Spartans, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Jalyx Guzman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Jayden Quiroz was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Minico now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Wood River, their defeat was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-8.

Minico will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Wolverines: the pair will be back at it again later today.
