Basketball Recap: Stanhope Elmore Takes a Loss

Stanhope Elmore was the 69-65 winner over Wetumpka when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Stanhope Elmore Mustangs took a hard 55-38 fall against the Wetumpka Indians on Thursday.

Wetumpka's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Logan Banks led the charge by dropping a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds. Banks is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordan Harris, who posted 16 points in addition to five assists and five boards.

Stanhope Elmore's loss dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Wetumpka, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Stanhope Elmore will welcome Percy Julian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Stanhope Elmore is facing Percy Julian at the right time seeing as Percy Julian is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Wetumpka, they will venture away from home to take on Prattville Christian Academy at 5:45 p.m. on Monday.
