Softball Game Preview: Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes vs. Oconto Falls Panthers

The Fox Valley Lutheran Foxes will face off against the Oconto Falls Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Fox Valley Lutheran will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Fox Valley Lutheran came out on top against Clintonville on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run fourth inning. The Foxes walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Truckers.

Brianna Dahlke was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Dahlke was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Claire Pfrang was incredible, going 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That stolen base marked the first that she has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Nora Probst, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Denmark hit Oconto Falls with a four-run third inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers came up short against the Vikings, falling 12-3. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Vikings recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Oconto Falls' loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Fox Valley Lutheran, they pushed their record up to 6-0 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Fox Valley Lutheran came out on top in a nail-biter against Oconto Falls when the teams last played back in May of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Foxes repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
