Football Game Preview: Redan Raiders vs. Carver Tigers

After each having a week off, the Redan Raiders and the Carver Tigers will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on the 14th. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Redan was handed a 42-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 22-20 victory over South Atlanta.

Redan didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jordan Francis and Xavier Ivey.

Meanwhile, Carver strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past Kendrick, posting a 42-0 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Tigers just coasted through the last quarter.

Carver's win came from a few key players Redan will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Sebastian Heard, who threw for 148 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Kelston Tarver also helped with two TDs in total.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Carver, adding 12 points to the final score. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Zach Watts, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Redan's record is now 4-6. As for Carver, their record now sits at 10-0.
