Basketball Recap: Washburn Takes a Loss

Washburn was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 66-61 heartbreaker at the hands of the Chaska Hawks. While losing is never fun, the Millers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 219th, while the Hawks are ranked 79th).

Washburn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Chaska, the victory snapped their losing streak at five games and leaves them with a 5-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Washburn will square off against St. Louis Park at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in St. Louis Park's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Chaska, they will face off against Wayzata at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
