Basketball Recap: Jesuit Comes Up Short

Jesuit was the 59-55 winner over Rocklin when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Jesuit Marauders fell 60-52 to the Rocklin Thunder on Wednesday.

It was another big night for Mark Lavrenov, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 16 boards for Rocklin. Lavrenov has become a key player for Rocklin: the team is 14-4 when he posts at least ten rebounds, but 3-4 otherwise. Ely Willis was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with nine points and ten boards.

Jesuit's loss dropped their record down to 17-7. As for Rocklin, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 17-8.

Jesuit didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 52-50 win against Oak Ridge on the 7th. As for Rocklin, they have also already played their next contest, an 80-58 victory against Granite Bay on the 7th.
