Softball Recap: Childersburg Comes Up Short

Childersburg lost against Horseshoe Bend back in March of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Childersburg came up short against Horseshoe Bend, falling 11-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Tigers have suffered against the Generals since March 7, 2016.

Madison Brooks made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-2. What's more, she posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

Childersburg's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 10-11. As for Horseshoe Bend, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-1.

Looking ahead, Childersburg will venture away from home to face off against Central of Clay County at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Central of Clay County will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Childersburg surely won't give up without a fight. As for Horseshoe Bend, they will be taking part in a tournament against Ranburne at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
