Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leesville). They secured a 75-70 W over the Simpson Broncos on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wampus Cats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Broncos are ranked 16th).

Leesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Shyann McCummings led the charge by putting up 21 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Malaya Williams, who posted 15 points.

The victory got Leesville back to even at 8-8. As for Simpson, with the loss, they broke their 13-game winning streak and moved their record to 27-2.

Leesville is taking a road trip to challenge Pleasant Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leesville is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 54.6 points per game this season. As for Simpson, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Savior Menard at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
