Recap: Maplesville Red Devils vs. Billingsley Bears

The Maplesville Red Devils won the last time they faced the Billingsley Bears, and things went their way on Friday too. Maplesville took down Billingsley 53-38. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 12 more assists than your opponent, as Maplesville did.

Maplesville found their leader in underclassman Nehemiah McCary, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points McCary has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonathan Wilson, who scored six points along with three steals.

Several Bears players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Mason Truesdale, who scored 12 points along with two steals and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Danny Boice, who scored nine points.

Maplesville now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Billingsley, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Maplesville will be playing at home against Verbena at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Verbena has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Billingsley, Billingsley and Loachapoka will face off at 2:00 p.m. on January 22nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
