Basketball Recap: Wilson Comes Up Short

Wilson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 45-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Darlington Falcons. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Despite the loss, Wilson still got an impressive performance from Leah Spears, who posted seven points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was LeaNISSA Swinton, who put up six points along with eight boards and three steals.

Even though they lost, Wilson smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Wilson's record now sits at 16-8. As for Darlington, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.

Looking ahead, Wilson will square off against Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wilson is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.4 points per game this season. As for Darlington, they will take on Crestwood at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Crestwood has insisted on making their last three contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 1-2 during that stretch of close contests.
