Softball Recap: Miramonte Snags Ninth Win in Last 11 Games

Miramonte took a 11-run defeat the last time they faced off against Concord, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Matadors had just enough and edged out the Bears 4-2. For the Matadors, this counts as revenge for the 24-13 win the Bears walked away with the last time they faced one another back in April of 2024.

Abby Warren made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Warren wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Lucy Daoust, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Miramonte has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for Concord, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.
