Softball Recap: Holt Ironmen vs. Paul W. Bryant Stampede
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West Blocton, Holt was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They never let the Paul W. Bryant Stampede get on the board and left with a 12-0 victory. The matchup marked the Ironmen's most dominant win of the season.
Jordan Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Holt let Neala Roper and Alexandria Wilder run wild. Roper scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances, while Wilder scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those two runs gave Roper a new career-high. Janiyah Blakely was another key player, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two RBI.
Holt always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .909. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
