Basketball Recap: Cloverdale Gets the Win

Cloverdale won the last time they faced Robinson, and Jahaven Duncan did his part to make sure it happened again. The Cloverdale Clovers managed a 65-60 win over the Robinson Maroons on Saturday thanks in part to Duncan, who went 10 of 24 on his way to 34 points and four steals. His morning made it ten games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Ishmael Kiteka, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 11 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down ten or more in the last eight games he's played.

Robinson lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ian Gilmore, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 13 points and six rebounds. That's the most boards Gilmore has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Cruz Dunlap, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 boards.

The victory got Cloverdale back to even at 5-5. As for Robinson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Cloverdale will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Owen Valley at 7:30 p.m. on January 10th. As for Robinson, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 54-51 loss against Flora on the 3rd.
