Soccer Game Preview: Pocahontas County vs. Greenbrier East + Official Tickets

Pocahontas County is 0-10 against Greenbrier East since September of 2020 but things could change on Thursday. The Warriors are taking a road trip to challenge the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Thursday, Pocahontas County needed a bit of extra time to put away Midland Trail. They never let the Patriots get on the board and left with a 1-0 win. The score was all tied up 0-0 at the break, but Pocahontas County were the better team in the second half.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Allyson Taylor, who's now up to 12 this season.

Meanwhile, Greenbrier East entered their tilt with Capital on Saturday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 3-0 victory. Greenbrier East's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last five matchups.

Pocahontas County's record now sits at 10-5-1. As for Greenbrier East, their record is now 15-2-1.

Pocahontas County suffered a grim 4-0 defeat to Greenbrier East in their previous meeting back in August. Can the Warriors avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
