Soccer Recap: St. Mary's Academy Comes Up Short

After flying high against Salina Central on Thursday, St. Mary's Academy came back down to earth. The Crusaders fell 4-2 to the Emporia Spartans on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Emporia this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-2 last Thursday.

St. Mary's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Emporia, their win bumped their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, St. Mary's Academy will challenge Topeka at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Emporia, they will face off against Hayden on Tuesday. Emporia will be up against Hayden's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.8 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
