Basketball Game Preview: Beverly Panthers vs. Marblehead Magicians

The Beverly Panthers will take on the Marblehead Magicians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Beverly knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Marblehead likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, Beverly humbled Saugus with a 73-43 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Marblehead posted their biggest victory since February 2, 2024 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Winthrop with a sharp 69-49 win. Given the Magicians' advantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while the Vikings are ranked 259th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Beverly's victory bumped their record up to 8-5. As for Marblehead, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Beverly beat Marblehead 60-50 in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Does Beverly have another victory up their sleeve, or will Marblehead turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
