Vista Ridge falls despite strong effort from Quentin Maldonado

Recap: Vista Ridge Wolves vs. Pine Creek Eagles

The Vista Ridge Wolves's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. They fell just short of Pine Creek by a score of 50-47. That's two games in a row now that Vista Ridge has lost by exactly three points.

Despite the loss, Vista Ridge still got an impressive performance from Quentin Maldonado, who scored 22 points along with five rebounds and five steals. Another player making a difference was Quentin Monck, who scored nine points along with six assists.

Leading Pine Creek to victory were Paul Grier and Blake Marshall. Grier scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and five assists, while Marshall scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. Marshall is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyler Chatman, who scored nine points.

Vista Ridge has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season. As for Pine Creek, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6.

Vista Ridge will take on Doherty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Doherty's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last eight contests. As for Pine Creek, they will head out on the road to challenge Rampart at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Rampart focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday.
