Football Game Preview: Layton Lancers vs. Farmington Phoenix + Official Tickets

Layton is 0-4 against Farmington since September of 2021 but things could change on Wednesday. The Lancers will welcome the Phoenix at 7:00 p.m. Layton has given up an average of 31.6 points per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Layton is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Davis on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Lancers were beaten by the Darts 42-7. The Lancers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

Meanwhile, Farmington faced Syracuse in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Phoenix snuck past the Titans with a 27-21 victory. The game was the first time the Phoenix have beaten the Titans on their field since August 23, 2019.

Layton better keep an eye on Will Peterson. He was instrumental in Farmington's win, rushing for 57 yards and one score on only seven carries, while also throwing for 175 yards on 16 of 27 attempts.

Farmington's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 4-5. As for Layton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
