Thorp dropped their record down to 8-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Stanley-Boyd Orioles by a score of 4-2. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Orioles earlier this season, when they won 4-3.

As for Stanley-Boyd, their win bumped their record up to 10-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory they have posted against Thorp since May 9, 2023.

For Stanley-Boyd's part, Caitlen Ketterhagen spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on eight hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Stanley-Boyd's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Aaliyah Allard, who went 2-for-3 with two runs. That's the most runs Allard has posted since back in April.
