Soccer Game Preview: Porter Ridge vs. Weddington

Porter Ridge hasn't had much luck against Weddington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Pirates will host the Warriors at 6:00 p.m. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Friday just wasn't the day for Porter Ridge's offense. They fell 2-0 to Marvin Ridge on Friday. While losing is never fun, Porter Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Marvin Ridge are ranked sixth).

Meanwhile, for the first time since back in March, Weddington was forced to settle for a draw on Tuesday. They and Marvin Ridge finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw.

Weddington's goal came courtesy of Shradha Kathirvel, who's now up to four this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Porter Ridge and nudges their season record down to 7-5-4. Weddington's draw gives them a new season record of 6-2-2.
