Basketball Game Preview: South Broward Bulldogs vs. Boyd Anderson Cobras

The South Broward Bulldogs will square off against the Boyd Anderson Cobras at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

South Broward is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 57 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Coral Springs on Monday. They were beaten by the Colts 66-22. While losing is never fun, the Bulldogs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 556th, while the Colts are ranked 62nd).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Boyd Anderson). They claimed a resounding 79-33 victory over Coconut Creek. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 50-13.

Boyd Anderson's win came from a few key players South Broward will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Terrence Walker, who went 10 for 12 on his way to 24 points. Demarcus Deroche was another key player, going 7 for 10 on his way to 17 points and five steals.

Boyd Anderson was working as a unit and finished the game with 28 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Boyd Anderson is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.5 points per game. As for South Broward, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-11.

South Broward ended up a good deal behind Boyd Anderson in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, losing 66-51. Can South Broward avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
