Basketball Recap: Newton HomeSchool Comes Up Short

Newton HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 39-38 heartbreaker at the hands of the Flint Hills Christian Warriors. The Panthers were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Warriors earlier this season, when they won 20-13.

Theo Busenitz and Cameron Fistler certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Busenitz to rack up 12 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Fistler posted seven points and nine rebounds. Those nine rebounds gave Fistler a new career-high.

Newton HomeSchool's loss dropped their record down to 5-14. As for Flint Hills Christian, their victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-16.

Newton HomeSchool has already played their next contest (against Ark City Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Flint Hills Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
