Basketball Recap: Brush Comes Up Short

Brush was the 57-55 winner over Platte Valley when they last played one another back in February of 2025, but their luck changed this time around. The Beetdiggers fell 54-50 to the Broncos on Friday. The Beetdiggers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite the loss, Brush still got an impressive performance from Dray Bauer-Reeves, who shot 50% from the field on his way to 20 points and six boards. Bauer-Reeves has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Donovan Bauer-Reeves, who posted 13 points.

Regan Edstrom continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Platte Valley, almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine assists. Jackson Gentry was another key player, putting up seven points.

Brush's record is now 8-11. As for Platte Valley, with the victory, they broke their four-game losing streak and moved their record to 9-10.

Brush didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-48 win against Highland on the 17th. As for Platte Valley, they have also already played their next matchup, a 70-47 loss against Liberty Common on the 17th.
