The Fairhaven Blue Devils will take on the Diman RVT Bengals at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Fairhaven came out on top against Dartmouth on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive 16-run fourth inning. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 21-1 margin over the High School. The game was the first time the Blue Devils have beaten the High School on their field since April 14, 2022.
Brianna Pierce was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over five innings pitched. Pierce was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two doubles.
In other batting news, Aislyn Flynn was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Haylie Jansen, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Diman RVT got the win against Durfee on Monday by a conclusive 17-3.
Like Fairhaven, Diman RVT also got a great game from a two-way player: Ava Cartin. She pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Cartin was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Paisley Parisee, who went 3-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025. Ella Farinha was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Diman RVT always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Durfee only posted an OBP of .250.
Fairhaven has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 13.5 runs this season. As for Diman RVT, the win got them back to even at 1-1.
Fairhaven couldn't quite finish off Diman RVT when the teams last played back in May of 2025 and fell 9-7. Can the Blue Devils avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
