Baseball Recap: Riverside Takes a Loss

Riverside extended their losing streak to seven on Monday, dropping them down to 4-15. They took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Parkersburg Big Reds. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 8, 2023, but that streak is no more.

Tug Eggleton put in work while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out 11 batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. Eggleton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he has launched this season.

Eggleton wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aaron George, who went 2-for-3 with one run.

As for Parkersburg, they now have a winning record of 10-9. They haven't had any issues with Riverside recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

On Parkersburg's side, they got a great performance from Noah Holland as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Parker Woods, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Jaxon Myers was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will square off against Chapmanville Regional at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Parkersburg, they will welcome Woodrow Wilson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
