Basketball Game Preview: Greenwood Woodmen vs. Whiteland Warriors

Greenwood and Whiteland are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2018, but not for long. After both having extra time off, both will shake off the cobwebs and take on one another at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Greenwood is looking for their season's first victory.

Greenwood saw some tournament action two weeks ago. They lost to Triton Central at home by a 59-40 margin. The Woodmen were down 48-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Whiteland). Couldn't have asked for a better way to wrap up 2024 than the 72-43 stomp they got against Anderson. The win was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Whiteland's victory bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Greenwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-14.

Greenwood skirted past Whiteland 59-57 in their previous matchup back in January of 2024. Does Greenwood have another victory up their sleeve, or will Whiteland turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
