Volleyball Recap: KIPP Austin Collegiate Takes a Loss

KIPP Austin Collegiate was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell 2-0 to the Valor South Austin Falcons. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 2-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Gabriela Semenov paced KIPP Austin Collegiate's offense, picking up three kills. Semenov got some help from Sofia Miranda and her four assists. Leah Orozco controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

KIPP Austin Collegiate's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Valor South Austin, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

KIPP Austin Collegiate will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Texas Lions Academy at 2:00 p.m. on the 29th. As for Valor South Austin, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Manor New Tech on the 19th.
