Reed-Custer has gone 9-1 against Peotone recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Comets will venture away from home to take on the Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. Reed-Custer is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Reed-Custer is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Tuesday, they were much more limited against Beecher on Wednesday. They lost 9-2 to the Bobcats.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Peotone). They put the hurt on Grant Park with a sharp 16-0 win on Friday. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Dragons recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Josh Barta made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ruben Velasco, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. Alex Chenoweth was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.

Peotone always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .645. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Reed-Custer's defeat dropped their record down to 6-10. As for Peotone, their record now sits at 6-11.
