Baseball Recap: Waubonsie Valley Comes Up Short

After soaring to ten runs the game before, Waubonsie Valley was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They fell just short of the DeKalb Barbs by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Warriors have suffered since April 21st.

Waubonsie Valley has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-12 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the defeats came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for DeKalb, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 24-10-1.

Coming up, Waubonsie Valley will head out to take on Romeoville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Warriors surely won't give up without a fight. DeKalb does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
