Basketball Recap: Morrill Comes Up Short

Morrill was the 64-46 winner over Potter-Dix when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions were outmatched by the Coyotes and fell 63-13. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

When it comes to explaining why Morrill lost on Friday, don't look at Jackson Adkins. Despite the final result, he posted five points and three steals.

Potter-Dix found their leader in sophomore Callen McConnell, who shot 70% from the field to rack up 16 points along with five boards and five steals. John Dhooge was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Morrill's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Morrill has already played their next game, a 63-16 defeat against Hay Springs on the 9th. As for Potter-Dix, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 64-27 victory against Creek Valley on the 12th.
