Football Recap: Kennett's Undefeated Season over After Five Games

After soaring to 56 points the game before, Kennett was a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They lost 31-10 to the Bayard Rustin Golden Knights. The Blue Demons have struggled against the Golden Knights recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Will Garner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bayard Rustin, rushing for 149 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. With that strong performance, Garner is now averaging an impressive 101.4 rushing yards per game. Bayard Rustin also got a significant boost from Jimmy Boland, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 86 yards.

Having lost for the first time this season, Kennett fell to 4-1. As for Bayard Rustin, the victory made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 4-1.

Coming up, Kennett will be playing in front of their home fans against Sun Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Blue Demons will be up against the Vanguards' rather soft defense (which has allowed 32.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Bayard Rustin, they will venture away from home to square off against Downingtown West at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Golden Knights 12.2, the Whippets 14.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
