Basketball Recap: High Point Academy Grizzlies vs. Christ Church Episcopal Cavaliers

The High Point Academy Grizzlies pushed their score all the way to 58 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 81-58 defeat to Christ Church Episcopal might stick with them for a while. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for High Point Academy in their matchups with the Cavaliers: they've now lost four in a row.

High Point Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chris Copeland, who scored 18 points. Copeland is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. DeAnthony Ross was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Christ Church Episcopal's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but D.j. Harvey led the charge by scoring 14 points along with five assists. Another player making a difference was Reid Hipp, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

High Point Academy's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Christ Church Episcopal, the win was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-5.

High Point Academy will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Bengal at 7:30 p.m. on February 6th. As for Christ Church Episcopal, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Ware Shoals will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps South Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 248th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 39th).
