Basketball Recap: Carson Janidlo's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Berlin Brothersvalley over United

Berlin Brothersvalley was the 78-69 winner over United when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Berlin Brothersvalley Mountaineers took a 65-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the United Lions on Monday. While losing is never fun, the Mountaineers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Lions are ranked 200th).

Several Mountaineers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Janidlo, who went 10 for 19 on his way to 21 points and six boards. McKelvey Foor was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven assists and six rebounds.

Berlin Brothersvalley has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for United, the win snapped their losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 12-6 record.

Berlin Brothersvalley will challenge Meyersdale at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Berlin Brothersvalley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.1 points per game this season. As for United, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Conemaugh Valley at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
