Softball Game Preview: Schurz Bulldogs vs. Intrinsic Mustangs

The Schurz Bulldogs will head out to challenge the Intrinsic Mustangs at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Schurz is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 31-16 margin over Disney II on Friday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bulldogs.

Hailey Wiley was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four stolen bases, six RBI, and three runs. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Valaria Davis, who scored five runs and stole two bases while getting on base in all six of her plate appearances.

Schurz always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .857. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, Intrinsic strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They blew past North Grand 17-5. That's two games straight that the Mustangs have won by exactly 12 runs.

The win got Schurz back to even at 2-2. As for Intrinsic, their victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
