Newton Local barely beat Franklin Monroe the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Jets on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Indians in their matchups with the Jets: they've now won eight in a row.

While Newton Local won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-11, 25-22, 25-18.

Newton Local can attribute much of their success to Mya Denlinger, who had 16 digs and two aces. That's the most aces Denlinger has posted over her last six contests.

The win got Newton Local back to even at 8-8. As for Franklin Monroe, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13.

Coming up, Newton Local will venture away from home to challenge Fairlawn at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Franklin Monroe, they will host Tri-Village at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Jets are facing the Patriots at the right time seeing as the Patriots are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
