Basketball Recap: Academy at the Lakes Gets the Win

Academy at the Lakes won the last time they faced Florida College Academy and things went their way on Tuesday too. In a tight contest that could have gone either way, the Academy at the Lakes Wildcats made off with a 48-47 win over the Florida College Academy Falcons. The victory was some much needed relief for the Wildcats as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Academy at the Lakes' win bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Florida College Academy, the defeat snapped their winning streak at four games and leaves them with a 11-6 record.

The two teams are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Academy at the Lakes will challenge Zephyrhills Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on February 4th. Zephyrhills Christian Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine matches -- so hopefully Academy at the Lakes likes a good challenge. As for Florida College Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Candlelight Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
