Volleyball Recap: Clovis West Golden Eagles vs. Los Gatos Wildcats

Clovis West and Los Gatos squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Clovis West had to settle for second. They fell 3-1 to the Los Gatos Wildcats. The Golden Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wildcats apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2018.

While Los Gatos got the win, Clovis West sure made them earn it: two sets took extra rallies. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 27-25, 22-25, 26-24.

Kalani Soares paced Clovis West's offense, picking up 12 kills. Soares got some help from Eve Dixon and her 25 assists. Taylor Dupont controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Clovis West and nudges their season record down to 29-12. As for Los Gatos, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 20-6 record this season.

Clovis West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Los Gatos, their road trip will continue as they head out to face Campolindo at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Campolindo is coming into the contest with ten straight victories at home, so Los Gatos will have to stop a team with plenty of momentum.
