Baseball Recap: Xavier Comes Up Short

Xavier suffered their closest loss since July 8, 2024 on Friday. They wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-1), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They have struggled against the Little Hawks recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.

Xavier's defeat dropped their record down to 10-8. As for Iowa City, they are on a roll lately: they've won 19 of their last 21 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-6 record this season.

Iowa City didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 10-4 victory against Jefferson on the 13th. Hopefully Xavier paid attention to the Little Hawks' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Little Hawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
